Church Profile

Grace Baptist Church is a fundamental, independent, Bible-believing church that holds to all of the precious teachings of God's Holy Word and recognizes the only way to salvation is through belief in Jesus including his virgin birth, His deity, His sinless human nature, His substitutionary death, and His bodily resurrection. We hold to a conservative, evangelical theology. Grace Baptist Church recognizes we are all sinners, we are flawed, but we strive daily to draw closer to God.

Organization:

The pastor is the shepherd of our flock; he preaches and teaches the congregation. Teaching is based on Scripture, not on personal opinion. The church is governed by a board of deacons, but decisions are made by the church membership. Our church is active with many committees such as Missions, Local Outreach, Youth, and Building & Grounds with many opportunities to serve! The church offers various ministries and programs for all ages, including Sunday worship services, Sunday school, Wednesday prayer meetings, youth group, Bible studies, men's and women's ministries, and community outreach programs. We tend to be family-oriented with activities for all ages such as Vacation Bible School, annual Car Cruise-in, Bluegrass concert, archery, camping and hiking, etc. All are encouraged to participate! The church has a strong emphasis on missions and supports missionary efforts around the world, including supporting national pastors.

What do we believe?

  • We believe in the triune nature of God - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and complete Word of God. Other books and writings are only there to aid in interpretation and shall not contradict God's Word. However, we do generally hold to historic Baptist confessions. We don't hold to a specific version of the Bible; KJV, NKJV, NASB, and NIV are often used in this church.
  • We believe in the Biblical account of the creation, and we do not adjust our interpretation of the Holy Scripture to align with current social and political trends.
  • We believe in a tribulation of 7 years beginning soon after the rapture. After the tribulation, there is the 1000 year reign of Christ and then the judgement and the new Heaven and Earth per the Word of God
  • We believe that Satan and his demons exist. We believe that sin exists in all men. Without an individual's belief in Jesus, a person will spend eternity in eternal damnation
  • We believe that each of us should continually grow in our faith and strive to be closer to our Lord.
  • We believe that times change, but truth does not; no matter what the world is thinking we have the truth of God's Word and his gracious salvation as eternal realities.

Membership:

Church membership requires salvation, a public baptism, a public testimony, and faithful attendance. Membership is important in that it demonstrates a like-mindedness with the church brethren and is required to hold office, teach classes, or vote on church business. We expect church members to love each other and bear one another's burdens, and we expect church members to serve as God leads them. There are many opportunities for service at Grace Baptist Church.

Demographics:

The membership of Grace Baptist Church tends to be conservative: theologically, politically and socially.
